Optical OFDM based on the fractional Fourier transform for an indoor VLC system

The fractional Fourier transform (FRFT), which is a family of linear transformations generalizing the classical transform, has been used in fields filter design, signal processing, phase retrieval, and pattern recognition due to its unique properties. FRFT can be interpreted as decomposition terms chirps. In this paper, for first time, best our knowledge, we introduce an optical (OFRFT)-based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) visible light communications (VLC) system compare numerical results with direct current-biased (DCO)-OFDM system. First, optimal order calculated improve performance proposed by minimizing bit error rate (BER). show that OFRFT-OFDM offers significantly improved BER compared DCO-OFDM under same computational complexity spectral efficiency. addition, peak average power ratio, issue emitting diode-based VLC systems, reduced < 1 d mathvariant="normal">B using DCO-OFDM.
